Terms of service
These terms cover your use of OpenAEO at openaeo.dev. They are deliberately short and readable. By running an audit or creating an account, you agree to them. Last updated 30 July 2026.
What OpenAEO does — and what it can't promise
OpenAEO fetches the page you submit the way an AI crawler would, scores what it finds, and generates suggested files and copy. The score is our opinion based on a published rubric, not a fact about your business or a ranking issued by any AI assistant.
We cannot and do not guarantee that you will be cited, recommended, or ranked by ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot, Google, or any other system. Those systems are third parties whose behaviour changes without notice and is outside our control. Anyone promising guaranteed AI citations is selling you something we won't. Generated files and copy are suggestions for you to review — you are responsible for what you publish, including replacing any placeholder text.
Acceptable use
Audit sites you own or are authorised to work on. Do not use OpenAEO to attack, overload, or scrape sites you have no relationship with, to break any law, or to attempt to circumvent our rate limits. We rate-limit requests and may suspend accounts that abuse the service. Do not submit confidential information in target prompts — they are sent to third-party AI providers (see the privacy policy).
Accounts
Keep your password secure; you are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you think it has been compromised.
Billing and cancellation
The free tier is free, with no card required. Paid plans (Solo $10/month, Business $39/month) are billed monthly in advance via Stripe and renew until cancelled. You can cancel any time and keep access until the end of the paid period; we do not pro-rate partial months. Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice to existing subscribers. If something goes wrong on our side, email us — we would rather refund you than argue.
Your content
You keep all rights to your site, your source code, and anything you paste in. You grant us only the permission needed to process it and show you the result. The files and copy OpenAEO generates for you are yours to use freely, with no attribution required.
Availability and liability
OpenAEO is provided "as is". We aim for it to be available and correct, but we do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free service, and results depend on third-party systems. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (which, on the free tier, is zero). Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Ending things
You can stop using OpenAEO and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end an account that breaches these terms or abuses the service. On termination, your stored data is deleted on request as described in the privacy policy.
